Background: We know waterfronts are tremendously important, valued places, and this is especially true for the Town of LaSalle. Our waterfront is fundamental to the Town’s identity and quality of life. It provides a connection to nature and a variety of opportunities for recreation, celebration, and entertainment. As a destination and an asset, our waterfront can be positioned to support the local economy and the Front Road businesses in particular. The LaSalle Waterfront District Plan (LWDP) is a project being undertaken by the municipality to support and encourage the broader vitality of the 60-acre park, as well as the larger Front Road commercial corridor.

The Municipality has put together a team of experts to help with the development of the LWDP. Urban Strategies Inc., together with Colliers and ERA Architects, will work to understand the opportunities we have along our unique waterfront to create a destination within our community. Public Open House Objective: The focus of this Public Open house is to share important information about the project and to gather feedback from the community to develop a draft set of ideas for the Waterfront District area. We aim to gather feedback for a Waterfront District Plan, explore forward-thinking ideas, and answer any questions you may have. The consultant team will be presenting an overview presentation of the initiative, the study process, a summary of existing limitations and opportunities, as well as a range of ideas from elsewhere that could be used to create a draft vision for the LaSalle Waterfront District Plan. This presentation will be held from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a brief question and answer period, as well as a meet and greet around a series of interactive presentation boards.
